At school we were collecting the Morrisons 'It's good to grow' vouchers and used them to invest in a hedgehog house and food. The children in Ash and Beech were given the opportunity to add it to their developing outdoor area. Children enjoyed placing the house outside and filling the bowl with food. The following day the children were eager to get outside and see if the food had been eaten. As the week went on more and more food was being eaten and the children's speculation and excitement grew!
We were lucky enough to be able to borrow a wildlife camera and catch footage of the mysterious creature that had been eating the food. After a couple of days we checked the camera and it was a hedgehog that had been coming to visit the house. Below is the footage of the hedgehog that the children in Ash and Beech are now calling 'Spikey'.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
