RE in Kirkby Avenue is taught following the Doncaster Locally Agreed Syllabus. We follow a two year continuous cycle to ensure that all children access the full syllabus during their time with us. The syllabus is structured in the form of key questions which the children work towards answering in their own way. It enables understanding of concepts and the development of skills and attitudes so that our pupils can explore wider issues of religion and belief in religiously literate ways. The syllabus prepares the children and young people for active citizenship in a diverse and rapidly changing world, exploring some aspects of British Values in relation to religions and worldviews.
