Well the last assembly is finished - we've had 2 today, the achievement and attendance this morning and the Year 6 Leavers' Assembly this afternoon. The year 6 pupils wrote their own lyrics and sang to 'Somewhere only we know' by Keane - FANTASTIC!
They conducted themselves brilliantly and have had a great (maybe a bit tearful) last day. We are so proud of them but they should be proud of themselves and their achievements! Three cheers for Kirkby Avenue's 2019 Year 6 group.
37 children had 100% attendance for the year and their names went in a hat for 2 IPADS - congratulations to K in year 5 and H in year 1! well done to the other 35 who gave themselves a chance with their 100% attendance.
A very kind 'Friend of the School' donated 2 Family passes (2 adults + 2 children) to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
Congratulations to A and her family - who won one of the passes for their level of Activity on the 'Maths With Parents' website. 13 families completed every activity and their names went in a hat for the first YWP voucher!
Also a fabulous well done to the family of S in year 2 for their Reading Superstar Achievement. Teachers put the names in a hat of all the children across school who had achieved 'Reading Superstars' all year. S's name was drawn out - a true family achievement. S gets the 2nd YWP family voucher!
My last words to all the children and families this year -STAY SAFE!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
