Welcome to Maple Class!
Teacher: Miss Stone
LSA: Miss Stockwell and Mrs Jackson
Other support: Miss Barlow and Mrs Davies
This half term we have got lots of exciting things happening! We are going on a trip to Cadbury World which links with our class book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as well as our Aztecs topic and chocolate!
In literacy we are also doing lots of work linked to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this half term including play scripts, role play, persuasive texts and leaflets!
In maths we will be doing lots of work related to place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, money, number sequences, time and fractions! As well as using concrete objects we will be using lots of pictures and word problems to solve answers and become super mathematicians!
In our science lessons we are conducting lots of fun experiments and investigations linked to states of matter and evaporation and condensation. We will be working as a team, making predictions and logging our outcomes.
Our history, geography and art lessons are all currently linked to our Aztecs topic! We also have a very extensive homework menu where we have made some beautiful pyramids and headdresses.
During PE we are doing lots of games involving teamwork, co-ordination, accuracy and communication.
As well as this we also have an ICT slot every week where we work on our ICT skills to help generate programmes, design posters and develop our ICT skills!
To be a reading superstar in Maple class you need to read three times to yourself at home, three times to yourself at school and three times to an adult in a week. If you do this you will win a raffle ticket and a team point!
Our homework goes out on a Friday and children have a choice of the homework the complete from a set menu. Homework must then be returned to school on the Wednesday ready to be marked again and sent back out on Friday.
We also like to give out team points for the chance to win prizes!
Thanks for reading and getting to know Maple Class!
